Welcome to Legendary Laundromat and Car Wash, LLC ("Legendary," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of legendarylaundromat.com (the "Website") and the self-serve laundromat and car wash facility located at 221 S Somonauk Rd, Cortland, IL 60112 (the "Facility"). By using the Website or the Facility, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website or the Facility.

1. Use of the Website

You may use our Website to learn about our services, view pricing, get directions, and report an issue with a machine, bay, or facility condition. You agree not to use the Website to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or harassing information
  • Interfere with the Website's operation or security
  • Scrape, copy, or republish our content without permission
  • Send automated requests or spam through our forms

We may restrict or terminate access if these Terms are violated.

2. Use of the Facility

The Facility is a self-serve laundromat and self-serve car wash open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is no attendant on-site. By entering and using the Facility, you agree to use the machines and bays as intended, following posted instructions; supervise your own belongings, vehicles, and children at all times; not damage, tamper with, disable, or misuse the equipment; not leave hazardous materials, contaminated laundry, or damaged vehicles on the property; not use the Facility for anything other than washing laundry or a personal vehicle; and respect other customers and keep the Facility clean. We reserve the right to refuse service, request that you leave, or contact local law enforcement if these terms are violated, if equipment is being damaged, or if anyone is behaving in a way that endangers themselves or others.

3. Assumption of Risk and Personal Responsibility

The Facility is self-serve. You use the washers, dryers, car wash bays, vacuums, and all other equipment at your own risk. Legendary is not responsible for:

  • Damage to clothing, bedding, or other laundry items (including but not limited to shrinkage, color transfer, damage from foreign objects left in pockets, or damage from customer-supplied detergents and additives)
  • Damage to vehicles, tires, wheels, paint, trim, tinted windows, or antennas caused by improper use of a bay (including but not limited to spraying at incorrect distance, using unapproved chemicals, or leaving the vehicle unattended mid-cycle)
  • Loss or theft of unattended personal property, laundry, or vehicles
  • Personal injury caused by slipping, tripping, misuse of equipment, or failing to follow posted instructions

Customers are responsible for reading the instructions posted on each machine and each bay before using them. If you are unsure how to operate a machine or a bay, do not use it — report it through the Report an Issue page and wait for guidance.

4. Security Cameras, Photos, and Marketing

The Facility is monitored by security cameras 24 hours a day, both inside and outside the building, including the parking lot, laundromat interior, car wash bays, and vacuum area. Footage is retained for a limited period and used to protect customers, employees, and property; investigate reports of theft, vandalism, damage, or misuse of equipment; and cooperate with local law enforcement upon lawful request. By using the Facility, you consent to being recorded on video. We do not record audio and we do not share footage with third parties except law enforcement or as required by law. Cameras do not record inside restrooms. Separately, we may photograph and record video of the Facility — the exterior, interior, machines, bays, and general customer activity — and use those images in marketing materials, on our Website, on Google Business Profile, and on social media. If a customer's face or vehicle license plate appears clearly in a photo intended for public marketing use, we will either blur those details or obtain permission before publishing. If you would like to be excluded from any marketing photo or video, tell us through the Report an Issue page and we will remove or blur your image. Security camera footage is not marketing footage and is never used in marketing.

5. Payments, Refunds, and Machine Availability

Machines and bays are coin-operated. Legendary is coin-only — no card readers, no third-party payment processors, and no payment card information is collected or stored. For refunds on machines that took your coin and did not run, submit a Report an Issue with the machine or bay number, the amount, and a brief description. We will review it and refund verified amounts by check or by store credit. Refund decisions are made in good faith based on machine records and customer report. We are not responsible for cash left inside a coin slot after it accepts your payment and dispenses the service, or for cash inserted incorrectly. Change and vending machines are provided as a convenience and are not guaranteed to be operational at all times; losses from a broken change or vending machine are handled the same way as any other equipment issue — file a Report an Issue with details. We keep the machines running as much as possible, but availability of any specific washer, dryer, or car wash bay is not guaranteed. If a machine or bay is not working, report it through the Report an Issue page and we will address it as quickly as we can.

6. Intellectual Property

The content on legendarylaundromat.com — including text, photos, videos, logos, brand marks, and the overall site design — is owned by Legendary Laundromat and Car Wash, LLC (or used with permission) and protected by U.S. copyright and trademark law.

You may share links to our pages and view content for personal or informational purposes, but you may not copy, republish, or otherwise reuse our content without our written permission.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Our Website may link to third-party websites, services, and platforms — review platforms (Google, Yelp), embedded video providers (Vimeo, YouTube), form hosts (JotForm), payment processors, and so on. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Website, the Facility, and the equipment inside the Facility are provided as is without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no guarantees that the Website will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every machine and bay will be operational at every moment.

We do not warrant specific wash outcomes on any given item of laundry or vehicle; results depend on customer choices, detergent quality, water temperature, vehicle condition, and other factors outside our control.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Illinois law, Legendary Laundromat and Car Wash, LLC and its owners, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Website or the Facility — including lost profits, lost belongings, damaged laundry, damaged vehicles, or personal injury, except where such liability cannot lawfully be limited (gross negligence, willful misconduct, or similar). For direct damages we are legally responsible for, our total liability for any single incident is limited to the amount you paid us on the date of the incident, or one hundred dollars ($100), whichever is greater.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify Legendary from claims arising out of (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your misuse of the Website or the Facility, or (c) damage or injury caused by your use of any machine, bay, or piece of equipment in a manner inconsistent with posted instructions.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute relating to these Terms or use of the Facility will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, and you and we consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the Last Updated date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated more directly when appropriate. Continued use of the Website or the Facility after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
